About Rabiah
Rabiah Khawaja is a Partner at Kindra Migration Lawyers, bringing over 17 years of experience across the immigration sector in both Australia and New Zealand.
Rabiah’s practice focuses on complex immigration, humanitarian and protection matters, including visa applications, appeals and litigation. She is known for her strategic, solutions-focused approach and her ability to navigate sensitive and high-stakes cases with care and precision.
Prior to rejoining Kindra, Rabiah was Head of Immigration and a Senior Associate at a leading New Zealand law firm, where she led the immigration practice and advised on a broad range of matters. Her experience also includes working as an Immigration Officer with Immigration New Zealand, giving her valuable insight into decision-making processes from both a legal and government perspective.
Rabiah is deeply committed to social justice and access to justice, with a particular focus on refugee and asylum matters, human rights, and family violence issues affecting migrant communities. She is passionate about achieving fair and practical outcomes for individuals and families navigating complex immigration systems.
Recognised for her contribution to the legal community, Rabiah was a finalist in the 2025 NZ Asian Lawyers Legal Community Contribution Award.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from La Trobe University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The College of Law Australia. Rabiah was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2017.
Fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi, Rabiah brings a strong cross-cultural perspective to her work and is dedicated to supporting clients from diverse backgrounds.
