Kindra Migration Lawyers is pleased to announce the return of Rabiah Khawaja, who rejoins the firm as a Partner from 1 May 2026.
Rabiah’s appointment marks an important milestone in the continued growth of the firm and reflects Kindra’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its expertise across complex migration matters, including corporate immigration and humanitarian law.
With more than 17 years of experience across Australia and New Zealand, Rabiah brings a wealth of knowledge spanning employer sponsored visas, protection visas and appeals. Her practice has a strong focus on complex immigration matters, including corporate immigration and protection matters, where her strategic approach and attention to detail have consistently delivered positive outcomes for clients.
Rabiah previously worked with Kindra earlier in her career, and her return represents a full-circle moment for both Rabiah and the firm. Since then, she has held senior leadership roles, including Head of Immigration and Senior Associate at a leading New Zealand law firm, where she led a high-performing immigration practice.
In addition to her legal practice, Rabiah has experience as an Immigration Officer with Immigration New Zealand, giving her a unique perspective on decision-making processes within government. This insight further strengthens her ability to guide clients through complex and often high-stakes matters.
Rabiah is widely recognised for her commitment to social justice and access to justice, particularly in relation to refugee and asylum matters, human rights, and family violence issues affecting migrant communities. In 2025, she was named a finalist in the NZ Asian Lawyers Legal Community Contribution Award, recognising her impact within the legal profession.
Managing Partner Jessica Williamson shared her enthusiasm about Rabiah’s return:
“Rabiah’s depth of experience, leadership and values align strongly with our vision for the firm. We are thrilled to welcome her back to Kindra as a Partner and look forward to the contribution she will make as we continue to grow.”
Rabiah’s appointment reflects Kindra’s focus on building a team that combines technical excellence with a genuine commitment to client outcomes.
As the firm continues to expand, this addition reinforces Kindra’s position as a leading migration law practice supporting individuals, families and businesses across Australia and beyond.
